Orientation day for Travel and Hotel majors

To create a link between students and businesses, help students understand the value of work and the specific requirements of the hotel/ travel – related positions; Department of Tourism Management, Tourism Science, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU organized the program "Orientation Day for Travel and Hotel majors " for all students of the Faculty on November 19^th, 2016.

There were many representatives of state and private agencies who attended the program including Mr. Tran Duc Hai, Deputy Director of Hanoi Tourism Department; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of Research Institute for Tourism Development; Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Director of Travel Department, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Mr. Tuan Anh, Director of Anh Duong; Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, Executive Director of VieTran tour; Ms. Bui Thanh Nhan, Director of Ecosea travel; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Director of Doji Business Services; Ms. Le Viet Ha, HR Manager of Crown Plaza Hotel; Nhu Thi Ngan, Director of Hanoi Tourism. On behalf of Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University, Head of the Department of Tourism Management; Mr. Pham Hong Long, Dean of Tourism Studies; as well as the teachers of the Faculty of Tourism and the students of the courses.

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University, Head of Tourism Management, expressed sincere thanks to representatives of agencies and enterprises who came to share and orient the students of the university.

The program continued with the exchanges among the students and the guests. The students had many direct questions about the internship opportunities, cooperation in the travel business units for the guests. Guests were also open to share about their experiences and opportunities in terms of travel and hotel management. Students had the opportunity to directly exchange job opportunities, grasp the requirements of skills, knowledge, and attitudes in order to determine the direction of careers in the future.

At the end of the program, on behalf of the Dean Board, Dr. Pham Hong Long, Dean of Tourism Faculty, expressed his gratitude to representatives of management agencies who spent their time sharing useful knowledge for the Faculty's students. He also highly appreciated the Tourism Management Department which organized such a useful orientation day for students. At the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, Executive Director of VieTran tour, has donated 15 million VND to support students to approach reality, contributing to help students of Faculty of Tourism, University of Social Sciences and Humanities to have more opportunities to practice outward.
