Interview and recruitment results from Faculty of Tourism Studies for students to attend "Hope for peace" exchange program in Okinawa, Japan.

"Hope for Peace” - is a program founded by the Okinawa Peace Assistance Center (OPAC) to create opportunities for young people in Okinawa and Asian countries (South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Cambodia) to learn from each other, develop human resources for peace building and peace education in the future, as well as to create a peace building network. Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University is honored to receive the trust as the contact organization of the program in Vietnam and as the unit nominating 5 students to attend the program in Okinawa, Japan. Participants of the program will be fully covered with the costs for travel, transportation, accommodation, meal, passport, visa, and insurance.

10 days after the official announcement was sent to students in the Faculty, the teachers and staff of Faculty of Tourism Studies had studied carefully, evaluated fairly and selected 10 most excellent student profiles that meet the program criteria to continue to the interview round.

The interview was held on August 16, 2019, at the meeting room of the Faculty of Tourism Studies. The selection committee consisted of Dr. Pham Hong Long - Dean of Faculty of Tourism Studies, Ms. Dinh Nhat Le - Politics and Student Affairs Assistant, Ms. Bui Nhat Quynh – External Relations Assistant. During the interview, the selection committee discussed, identified the capabilities of each candidate to select the most suitable delegates. After a serious and hard-working interview round, out of the 10 candidates, 5 students were selected to participate in this exchange program. The official list includes:

Finally, Faculty of Tourism Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities has selected 5 students who meet the criteria to represent Faculty of Tourism Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities attend this meaningful program. Certainly, after this trip, students will learn a lot of practical knowledge about the history, life and culture of Japan and other participating nations. This is also an opportunity for students to be ambassadors to introduce cultural identity of the Vietnamese to international friends and contribute to building the status and reputation of Faculty of Tourism Studies in particular and University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general.

Last but not least, we hope that the delegations from Faculty of Tourism Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities will have a safe, meaningful and successful trip.
