A research trip to Ba Be National Park of the students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies and Rikkyo University

The Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) and Rikkyo University (Japan) has built an intimate relationship and helped each other in both educational and scientific activities.

On Aug 5th 2016, the student delegataion of Rikkyo University led by Professor Mika travelled to Vietnam to conduct the research of eco-tourism in Ba Be National Park. Four students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies assisted Rikkyo University’s students with their research voluntarily.

The research was carried out from Aug 6th to Aug 9th at Ba Be National Park, Bac Can. All Vietnamese and Japanese students were divided into four groups directed by Professor Mika. At Pac Ngoi village (Ba Be), all groups of students stayed in a homestay in order to discover the soul of the destination, to experience the living lifestyle of the Tay people and the way that the Tay people develop tourism concentrating environmental protection. In addition, the research groups delivered a comprehensive survey about ecotourism topic, interview the local people  as well as continually discover beautiful landscapes in Ba Be National Park. Four students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies (USSH) helped Japanese students by interpreting and supporting them with necessary information. After four dass in Ba Be, the delegation came back to Hanoito visit the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and participate in a meeting between Japanese students and K58 students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies.

The research was extremely successful. Japanese students gained thorough knowledge about ecotourism to support their task with substantial voluntary assistance from the Faculty of Tourism Studies.

This activity contributes to strengthen the relationships with Rikkyo University in particular and to develop the international cooperation of the Faculty of Tourism Studies in general.
