Traditional Craft Tourism Festival in Hanoi in 2014 – “Quintessence convergence”

Under the instruction of Hanoi City People's Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will sponsor and cooperate with other related departments to hold Traditional Craft Tourism Festival in 2014, under the theme “ Tinh Hoa Hoi Tu” – “Quintessence convergence”, taking place from Oct 09 to Oct 12 in Quan Ngua Sports Palace.

Traditional Craft Tourism Festival is an annual tourism event for 60-year anniversary of the Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2014) with intention of contributing to honor, conserve and develop traditional crafts in Hanoi and other provinces in Vietnam, which effectively enhance traditional craft tourism. The Festival are planned to have participation of nearly 400 stalls on behalf of traditional craft villages, famous artists of Hanoi in such materials as ceramics, bamboo and rattan, sedge, embroidery, paper, traditional paintings, paper making, wood carving and bronze casting,… Simultaneously, there is the participation of trip agencies, restaurants, airlines, traditional delicious food stalls.

 

In the framework of this Festival, there will be some activities such as honoring some craft villages, typical artists, signing cooperative contracts between State management offices, Associations to enhance the tighter connection between tourism and craft villages in Hanoi. Art performances, martial arts demonstration and Recreational games bring highly traditional folk culture. On this occasion, travel, restaurant and airline agencies introduce and sell travel programs for raising demand as well as specific tours about craft streets and villages of Hanoi to the visitors of the festival.

 

Besides, Hanoi Traditional Craft Tourism Festival will also hold a conference about introducing Korean and Vietnamese cuisines.
