Hội thảo Du lịch có trách nhiệm đầu tiên của Đông Nam Á

Từ ngày 9 đến ngày 12 tháng 5, Hội thảo Du lịch có trách nhiệm đầu tiên của Đông Nam Á đã được tổ chức thành công tại thành phố Kuching, bang Sarawak, Malaysia. Sự kiện kéo dài 4 ngày này được tổ chức bởi Trung tâm Trách nhiệm Borneo (Centre for Responsible Borneo - CRB) với sự tham gia của các đại biểu là học giả, chuyên gia và lãnh đạo ngành du lịch của các nước Đông Nam Á. Việt Nam có 2 đại diện tham gia sự kiện này, trong đó có PGS. TS. Phạm Hồng Long – Trưởng Khoa Du lịch học, Trường Đại học Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn, Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội.
Trong thời gian diễn ra hội thảo, những đại biểu tham dự đã có những thảo luận, trao đổi sâu sắc xung quanh lý thuyết và thực tiễn phát triển du lịch có trách nhiệm dựa trên đặc thù của các nước khu vực Đông Nam Á. Sự kiện học thuật lần này đã thu được nhiều kết quả ý nghĩa. Về mặt lý thuyết, các đại biểu đã thống nhất xây dựng "Module Du lịch có trách nhiệm cho khu vực Đông Nam Á", sẽ được xuất bản bởi Nhà xuất bản Emerald. Về mặt thực tiễn, các đại biểu tham gia đã đóng góp nhiều ý tưởng cho việc vận hành triển khai du lịch có trách nhiệm tại các nước khu vực Đông Nam Á thông qua các diễn đàn, hội thảo, tập huấn, hợp tác đào tạo, nghiên cứu, trao giải thưởng, và tư vấn chính sách. Hội thảo cũng là dịp để các đại biểu tham dự đã thảo luận mang tính định hướng về Hội thảo Quốc tế về Du lịch và Lưu trú có Trách nhiệm 2025 (International Conference on Responsible Tourism and Hospitality – ICRTH 2025) sẽ được tổ chức vào tháng 6 tại Manila, Philippines.
Bên lề của các buổi trao đổi học thuật, Ban Tổ chức còn chu đáo sắp xếp các hoạt động tham quan trải nghiệm thiên nhiên, văn hóa đặc trưng của Sarawak như khám phá Vườn Mê cung Đá Paku, thưởng thức ẩm thực địa phương. Những trải nghiệm này không chỉ tăng cường sự kết nối, hiểu biết đa văn hóa, mà còn giúp cho những ý tưởng lý thuyết được triển khai một cách sống động trong thực tiễn.
Đại diện Bộ Du lịch Bang Sarawak phát biểu tại tiệc bế mạc rằng, hội thảo lần này đánh dấu một giai đoạn phát triển mới của du lịch có trách nhiệm ở Đông Nam Á. Ban Tổ chức bày tỏ lòng cảm ơn chân thành đối với sự hỗ trợ nhiệt tình của các đơn vị tài trợ và các khách mời tham dự. Chính nhờ sự đồng lòng hợp sức của các bên mà sự kiện mang tính bước ngoặt của ngành này đã thành công tốt đẹp. Các chuyên gia tham dự đã đạt được đồng thuận rằng: chỉ có liên tục tăng cường đối thoại và hợp tác mới có thể mở ra một diện mạo mới cho sự phát triển bền vững của ngành du lịch Đông Nam Á. Sự kiện học thuật này được kỳ vọng sẽ là một trong những tiền đề để ngành du lịch Đông Nam Á bước vào một kỷ nguyên mới, có trách nhiệm hơn và bền vững hơn.
Southeast Asia's First Responsible Tourism Workshop
From May 9 to 12, Southeast Asia's First Responsible Tourism Workshop was successfully held in Kuching City, Sarawak, Malaysia. This four-day event was organized by the Centre for Responsible Borneo (CRB) and attended by delegates, including academics, experts, and tourism industry leaders from Southeast Asian countries. Vietnam had two representatives at this event, among whom was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Long – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
During the workshop, attendees engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on the theory and practice of developing responsible tourism tailored to the unique contexts of Southeast Asian countries. This academic event has yielded significant outcomes. Theoretically, delegates agreed to develop the "Responsible Tourism Module for Southeast Asia," to be published by Emerald Publishing. Practically, participating delegates contributed numerous ideas for implementing responsible tourism in Southeast Asian countries through forums, workshops, training sessions, collaborative training programs, research, awards, and policy advisories. The workshop also provided an opportunity for attendees to hold directional discussions regarding the International Conference on Responsible Tourism and Hospitality 2025 (ICRTH 2025), which is scheduled to be held in June in Manila, Philippines.
Alongside the academic sessions, the Organizing Committee thoughtfully arranged experiential tours showcasing Sarawak's unique nature and culture, such as exploring the Paku Rock Maze Garden and enjoying local cuisine. These experiences not only enhanced networking and cross-cultural understanding but also facilitated the vivid translation of theoretical ideas into practice.
At the closing banquet, a representative from the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism stated that this workshop marks a new phase of development for responsible tourism in Southeast Asia. The Organizing Committee expressed sincere gratitude to the sponsors and attendees for their enthusiastic support. Thanks to the concerted efforts and collaboration of all parties, this landmark event for the industry was a resounding success. Participating experts reached a consensus that only through the continuous enhancement of dialogue and cooperation can a new chapter be opened for the sustainable development of the Southeast Asian tourism industry. This academic event is expected to lay the groundwork for the Southeast Asian tourism industry to enter a new era, one that is more responsible and sustainable.
