Historical development milestones of the Faculty of Tourism Studies

On October 21, 1995, according to the decision of the Director of Hanoi National University to aim for the training of Bachelor of Science in Tourism, the Faculty of Tourism Studies was established with two departments: Culture and Tourism Geography and the Department of Economics and Tourism Operations. More than 2,000 full time students have studied at the Faculty, and among them many students and graduates of the Faculty graduated successfully in their work and became State leaders in tourism, teaching university and college students, managers in tourism businesses, and senior experts in tourism-related research projects.

 

In 2003, with the mission of training and fostering high-level human resources, with the approval of Hanoi National University and the Ministry of Education and Training, the Faculty of Tourism Studies began training Master of Science in Tourism. It is the only school in Vietnam and has been the only institution in Vietnam to train Master in Tourism Studies to date. After more than 10 years of training, with a team of 20 experienced, passionate and dedicated staffs, almost 1000 graduates. The training program is designed in-depth with subjects in the field of tourism and complementary subjects, combining theory and practice to provide opportunities for students to integrate well into the TB environment. Travel in the domestic and regional tourism.

 

In 2013, in response to changes in the new situation, the Faculty of Tourism Studies has added a new department in the faculty training system, namely the Department of Event Management. This is a field with a lot of development opportunities, however, requires highly trained human resources due to high professional working environment. Therefore, the training program is designed in-depth with subjects in the field of events and supplementary subjects, the combination of theory and training skills to create opportunities for students to integrate with future work environment.

 

Over 20 years of formation and development, it is not a long time, but Faculty has achieved many achievements in the field of training, scientific research, and international cooperation. In the future, the Faculty will continue to strive to be a key national training center in tourism and continue to bring a lot of core values to students.
